A 27-year-old Moldovan was recently stopped at the Rheineck SG border crossing. In a minibus, he tried to smuggle 98 kilograms of meat, 181 liters of wine and 24 liters of spirits into Switzerland, as the Federal Customs Administration (FCA) wrote on Wednesday.

On the same day, a 42-year-old Moldovan entered Switzerland via the St. Margrethen SG border crossing. EZV employees checked his delivery van and found 66 kilograms of meat, 55 liters of wine and 8 liters of spirits in it. The foods were not declared.
The arrested people have to pay the evaded taxes and expect fines of up to several thousand francs.
