20 minutes – There is neither meat nor parmesan for the stars

The 77th Golden Globe Awards will take place in Beverly Hills on Sunday, January 5. The best films and series of the past year are again selected.

There is a premiere when the stars are tasted. For the first time, an exclusively vegan menu is served, as reported by the “Los Angeles Times”. The Golden Globes are the first major award show to follow this path. “We have given it a lot of thought and have thought about it over the past few years,” says Lorenzo Soria of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA), which is hosting the event. The climate crisis could not be ignored, and the decision to serve a purely vegan menu was “a small step to solve a big problem”.

A cold beet soup

Climate activist and Hollywood superstar Leonardo DiCaprio already responded to the decision with a tweet, with which he thanked the HFPA.

Chef Matthew Morgan was not really enthusiastic about the idea at first, but then realized that the change was an important message. And so there will be a cold beetroot soup and a mushroom risotto for the stars on Sunday – the latter of course without Parmesan. But switching to the vegan side of the culinary scene is not the only change. Plastic bottles and conventional straws are also avoided.
