Migros does not comment on whether the chocolate comes from abroad because it is cheaper for the company. It simply says that under M-Classic there are various chocolates from home and abroad at attractive prices.

Marketing expert Cary Steinmann is convinced that even if Migros can save money with this, it may have to accept an image damage. Migros has to produce typical Swiss products domestically, he says to the newspaper. Otherwise the customers will be disappointed. The resulting damage is much more important than the savings in product procurement.

According to insiders, Migros increasingly only wants to manufacture products that generate a profit, the “SonntagsZeitung” continues. So that the range does not shrink, buy cheaper goods elsewhere.
