Even though very few of the winners can recite all of them off the cuff: Some names have remained present to this day. And casting boss Bohlen is particularly proud of that. In the “Bild” newspaper he clears the prejudice shortly before the new season starts that the DSDS winners will disappear immediately after the finale. And he gives counter examples:

No more number 1 possible
However, Bohlen also admits that his protégés today “have no chance” of “making a number 1 record”. He himself produces the winners’ albums and has regularly reached the top of the charts in the past. “Today only streams count for the charts, everything runs via Spotify,” explains Bohlen. “But our winners are hardly streamed. It’s almost all hip-hop. »
Nevertheless, he is still convinced of the format. “The easiest way to get known is still DSDS. Nobody knows many number 1 rappers outside. Your music maybe, but people don’t. »
In the end, he can’t help but give a side blow to the casting show competition: «At least our people stand out. The participants of ‹The Voice› have to drive a taxi after the final… »
