20 minutes – Crown Prince injured in skiing accident in Switzerland

The Danish royal family, who is currently at home in Verbier, experienced an unsightly incident during winter sports. Crown Prince Frederik injured himself while skiing last week.

Crown Princess Mary’s husband suffered a minor injury on the shoulder, as stated in a statement by the Danish Royal Palace. He is currently being examined and treated at the Rigshospitalet in Copenhagen. He had to undergo an uncomplicated operation that went according to plan. The injury had no effect on the Crown Prince’s program.

The twelve-week school stay for the Royal children therefore continues to go according to plan. Prince Christian (14), Princess Isabella (12) and the twins Josephine and Vincent (both 8) have been attending the Lemania-Verbier International School since January.

Often injured

It is not the first time that Crown Prince Frederik has been injured in an accident:

2019 it was also a skiing accident when he injured his cruciate ligament.

2018 he rushed down a flight of stairs. In the same year he had to have an operation on the intervertebral disc.

2016 Crown Prince Frederik fell while jumping trampoline and broke a cervical vertebra.

2009 he broke his fibula while sledding in Switzerland.
