Aphantasy is the fact that certain people have no visual imagination. If her father used to tell her dad to fall asleep when she had trouble falling asleep, it was just a thought in her head, Bonnie explains. But there was no picture in it.

“I see black”

Or when she asks her therapist to put herself in a situation: no inner images. She also has no picture of her one-year-old daughter Goldie or her mother when she thinks of her, Bonnie explains. “I see black no matter what I think about,” says Strange. She was “internally blind”.

Bonnie Strange is not alone in her aphantasy. Estimates assume that around two percent of people are affected – many without knowing it. She found out for herself through a simple test that she also did in her Insta story with their 984,000 followers.
