Yves Senn (44) had a colleague for one franc in 2014 safe auctioned. It weighs around five tons and is about 2 by 1.5 meters tall. He is currently in his garden in Rickenbach.

The catch: it cannot be opened. Two attempts have already failed. Among them that of a professional blacksmith:

“He took turns flexing the metal away and then removing a layer of concrete. Then there was metal and concrete again, »explains Senn the tedious process. But when the blacksmith came across steel, he gave up. The whole thing took half a day.
Local experts
After the 20 minute report, numerous people offered to help. Among them laypeople who are looking for a challenge. But also several experts who already came up with concrete solutions. We are talking about an oxygen lance that could be used. Many also suggest drilling a hole first and then using an endoscope and camera to check what’s inside. Senn has already tried that, but failed.
One of the professionals is Andy Gygax, Managing Director of GSB Produktions GmbH, He took a picture on site on Wednesday morning (see video above). The former managing director Willy Kuhn was there.

For the two experts it is clear: “We cannot open the thing.” With their technology, they are dependent on the three different locks turning. They don’t. «Because the safe was outside for so long, it was exposed to the weather. So everything is rusty, »says Gygax. They therefore believe that the only way to get to your destination with brute force is to use heavy guns.
