Last week, the 144 sentinella doctors reported 35.1 flu-like illnesses in 1,000 consultations. Extrapolated, this corresponds to 263 infections per 100,000 inhabitants, as the BAG announced on Wednesday. The previous week there had been 345.

Three strains of viruses at the same time

The seasonal epidemic threshold of 69 suspected flu cases has been exceeded since the second week of January. However, there has been a downward trend in the past week.

The youngest age group between the ages of 0 and 4 remained the most affected, with a decreasing tendency. Cases also decreased among 5 to 29 year olds, while their number remained stable among older people.

The disease remained widespread in all parts of the country. Three virus strains are currently rife at the same time, which is rather unusual according to the BAG.
