No one has been successful yet. New games with the same principle always ended up in the shadow of the giant. But that could change with «Temtem».
Finally multiplayer
At first glance, “Temtem” looks like a “Pokémon” clone: catch and train monsters, develop and fight. But the game gives the formula a new twist with details.
Probably the most important change is the multiplayer aspect: During the adventure, players come across other players with whom you can interact. In addition, the combat system is not one-on-one; the Temtem (that’s the name of the monsters) always fight in pairs. So you can play together with friends.
“Temtem” offers social aspects that fans of “Pokémon” have always wanted. In addition to the PC platform Steam, the game will later appear on all common consoles.
Full version comes later
“Temtem” is now available for CHF 35 as an early access title on Steam. Early Access means: The game is not yet complete and only contains part of the content of the full version. The Spanish developers of Crema do not expect the full version until the end of 2021.
After the annual stagnating innovation of the “Pokémon” games, the competition is now bringing a breath of fresh air to the genre. The start on Steam was brilliant. Just a few minutes after its release, «Temtem» took first place on the charts.
