Yesterday (Sunday), Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro ordered the imposition of a “collective quarantine” in seven of the country’s states, including the capital, Caracas, from Monday to curb the spread of the new Corona virus.
Maduro said in a televised speech that all activities in the states of Caracas, Miranda, Vargas, Zulia, Tashiira, Abure and Cocheides will be suspended from five o’clock on Monday morning except for the distribution of food, health services, transportation and security.
In Argentina, President Alberto Fernandez announced that Argentina will close its borders and stop studying in all educational institutions to contain the spread of the new Coruna virus.
“We have closed the borders of Argentina,” Fernandez said at a press conference, explaining that the procedure includes only those arriving in the country and not those wishing to leave the country.
In addition to the decision to suspend lessons, this procedure will remain in place until March 31.
