Heriberto Tavares will undergo surgery after having broken the toe of his left foot in the match Famalicão played against Benfica, for round 14 of the League.
The winger was substituted in the 11th minute of the game with the reds and it was immediately suspected that the physical problem could be serious, even in the face of pain revealed at the time of the fall on the pitch.
The most pessimistic scenario was confirmed by Famalicão’s medical team, with recourse to intervention being considered inevitable.
Heriberto played 10 games for Famalicão this season, having scored two goals.
