Tiago Dantas will not be part of Benfica’s squad next season and will be, again, on loan, but now to a I Division team in Portugal.
The 20-year-old attacking midfielder, a product of the Reds’ formation, was transferred last season to Bayern, but played little – used twice in the main team and five in the secondary, which plays in the II Division.
The Germans decided not to exercise the €7.5 million call option clause. Benfica understands that Tiago Dantas, next season, should have the opportunity to play regularly. And he prefers to have him close, to better follow his evolution. There are several teams that would like to host Tiago Dantas and, at the moment, two are on the front line.
Benfica will decide, very soon, which team best suits the characteristics of the young man, who should no longer be playing at Seixal on Friday at the beginning of the eagles pre-season.
