Grandfather Sentenced to Prison for Indecency with Grandson and Sharing Child Pornography

Arie R., who is 77, from Berkel en Rodenrijs receives a prison sentence of one year and a year of probation for his part in the case. Both men will undergo treatment after their prison sentences and will remain under supervision for the time being.

‘Master’ Arie was watching
The men have known each other for years and had a sexual relationship with online addicts. When the slave Peter van M. from Veldhoven went to look after his newborn grandson on certain days, he fornicated with the boy and let his ‘master’ Arie R. watch via Skype connection. R. also gave orders to carry out certain actions and this happened several times over a period of almost two years.

Peter van M. also committed prostitution with another son’s dog and had 260 photos of animal donography in his possession. In addition, he had access to over 90,000 different images and videos containing child pornography. Between August 2015 and May 2023, he shared many photos and videos with Arie R. He owned and shared about 5,500 photos and more than 240 videos.

Unrelenting suffering
The court concluded that Peter van M. abused his position as a grandfather to satisfy his own sexual needs and preferences. He caused unbearable suffering to the family of his son and daughter-in-law and their two children, while they thought they could trust him.

The court believes in Van M.’s favor that he has admitted everything and that he understands how bad it is. It also appears that contact with his son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren has been permanently severed.

The court is imposing a lower sentence than was requested two weeks ago. Justice then asked Van M. to go to prison for three years and his master, Arie R. from Berkel en Rodenrijs, for two years.

Mandatory treatment
Both men have another ‘paraphilic disorder’, or abnormal sexual interest. To prevent the risk of recurrence, the court imposes several special conditions on the men. For example, they are required to report to the probation service, must be treated by a healthcare provider and must not have contact with each other for three years.

The man from Veldhoven will also receive a contact and area ban so that his son, daughter-in-law and two grandchildren are not directly against Peter van M..
