Police found the body of Jenean Chapman in her downtown Dallas, Texas apartment on Monday. This happened five months after she moved there. The autopsy subsequently proved that it was a murder, the portal writes Daily Mail.
The very next day, investigators arrested her husband, James Patrick, in Austin. The couple was only supposed to get married two months ago. However, according to Sister Chapman, the man was abusive and she described their relationship as toxic.
“My sister was recently a victim of physical abuse and her life was brutally taken. She had so much to look forward to and impacted so many people in her life. Their accomplishments are too numerous to count. Although she is no longer with us, her the light will continue to shine in our hearts and we will have fond memories of her. I love you and miss you,” her sister Crystal Marshall said. Patrick faces charges of murder. He is now in custody, where he will remain until his trial.
The tragedy also affected Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York. The victim worked for Prince Andrew’s ex-wife for several years. She used to be her personal assistant, the portal writes BBC. “I was shocked and saddened to learn that Jenean Chapman, who worked with me many years ago as my personal assistant, was murdered in Dallas at the age of 46. The suspect is in custody,” Ferguson said.
“Jenean was loyal, hardworking, beautiful and funny and my heart is crying. I think of her family and friends. I heard about her a few months ago. And she seemed so happy,” recalled Prince Andrew’s ex-wife.
The Duchess of York has pledged financial support to the murdered family, who are raising funds to fly Chapman’s body to New York and cover legal and funeral costs.
