PlayStation 5 is the fastest-selling console in the history of the United States, both in terms of number of units sold and dollar sales. No other console has performed better in the first five months.
The information comes from analyst Matt Piscatella of the NPD Group. Total hardware sales in March / March this year drew Nintendo Switch, which was the best – selling hardware platform in both pieces and dollars.
The Switch was the best-selling unit in the first quarter of the year, while the PS5 ranked first in hardware sales.
Xbox Series X/S a PS5 they pay for the lack of pieces. Microsoft and Sony will sell everything they can produce.

In March 2021, Americans spent on hardware, content, and accessories $ 5.6 billion. That is 18% more than a year ago. Consumer spending in the first quarter totaled $ 14.9 billion, up 30% from the first quarter of 2020. A year ago, sales were affected by the covid-19 pandemic.

Revenues from gaming hardware were in March / March 47% higher than a year ago. In the US, players spent $ 680 million. The current maximum was set in March 2008 – $ 552 million. Year-on-year hardware spending reached $ 1.4 billion (up 81% from 2020).
