Cheating, it’s more common than you think, but at what age do we most often cheat on our partner? Cheater website Ashley Madison listed when people join the website and asked additional questions.
In total, the company surveyed nearly 2,100 members. On average, men become members when they are 36, women are 33. The main reason to look beyond their own marriage? Disappointment. After the first pleasant years full of excitement and adventure, a routine develops, says communications director Isabella Mise. “Too often, our members explain to us that their marriage is not what they expected it to be. After the pink cloud clears and children appear on the scene, things change. The relationship is less passionate, people have less sex and focus more on daily life. ”
32 percent of those surveyed were between the ages of 30 and 39 when they had their first extramarital affair. About 28 percent were between the ages of 20 and 29 and 24 percent were in the 40-49 age group. “When couples realize the challenge of marriage, especially with a family, it can be an unpleasant surprise to discover how it affects their feelings,” explains relationship therapist Dr. Tammy Nelson. “More people make mistakes after having children, perhaps because they long for a perfect partner, or because they think back to a life for children and all the responsibilities that come with it.”
