In the evening, health authorities reported four more cases in Baden-Württemberg and another infected person in Schleswig-Holstein. The first infection in Berlin was confirmed late on Sunday evening.
As of Friday, there were only 53 records nationwide, so the number has more than doubled since then. The actual number of cases is likely to be somewhat higher because of new evidence. According to the German press agency, three cases have taken place in Rhineland-Palatinate as reported by the RKI two.

For several hundred residents in the Heinsberg district, home quarantine ended on Sunday. Around 300 carnivalists who had attended a meeting in Gangelt on February 15 and their families had been called for the precautionary measures. Since Sunday, those who do not show any symptoms of the disease have been able to move again without restrictions, a district spokesman said in the morning.
