Agatha Reyes | LAra’s PRESS.– Venezuela records record number of infections by coronavirus, in the last 24 hours they were counted 351 cases of COVID-19, raising the total figure to 5,130 positivesIn addition, the death of a 70-year-old doctor from the state of Merida was recorded.
The information was released by the MHealth Minister Carlos Alvarado, of the figure registered for this June 27 at least 249 with a community type, while 101 are imported cases.
According to the information offered by the official, community cases are found in the following entities:
Zulia (142), Miranda (19), Mérida (11), Bolívar (19), Caracas (34), Sucre (14), Yaracuy (3), Trujillo (3), Monagas (2), Lara (1) and Anzoátegui (1).
While of the 101 positive import types are: 82 infected from Colombia, 16 from Brazil, 2 from Ecuador, in addition to a case of contagion by contact with travelers.
A deceased
The vice president of Venezuela Delcy Rodríguez confirmed the death of a person because of COVID-19, raising 42 the fatal victims in Venezuela.
This is a 73-year-old pediatrician, a resident of the state of Merida. He reported that the man was admitted to a sentinel hospital for intensive care and on June 26 he presented a respiratory arrest, as he suffered from hypertension and asthma.
“Today we honor this doctor who died fighting on the front line against the coronavirus,” he said.
Given the increase in community-type cases, Rodríguez indicated that twelve states in the country will have to remain in strict quarantine since Monday, June 29.
