The Norwegian court rejects Buring-Brywick’s request for parole

“There is an obvious risk that [Bērings-Breivīks] will return to the behavior that led to the July 22 terrorist attacks, “the court said.

On July 22, 2011, Bering-Breivik carried out two bloody attacks. He first blew up a mine near the government building in Oslo, killing eight people, but then, disguised as a police officer, staged a massacre at a Labor Party youth summer camp on Uttar Island, killing 69 people.

This is the most serious crime committed in Norway since World War II.

Buring-Breawick claimed that the killings were committed because he was against the state’s advocacy for multiculturalism, and in August 2012 he was sentenced to 21 years in prison, which could be extended if he was still found to be dangerous after that date.

For 42 years, Buring-Breivik has never regretted the murders.

Buring-Breivik’s chances of being released on parole were minimal, but the lawsuit gave him the opportunity to spread his ideological propaganda and return to the media spotlight.
