UEMOA welcomes medical aid from Morocco to its members

The Commission of the West African Economic and Monetary Union (UEMOA) welcomes the initiative of HM King Mohammed VI to grant medical aid to several African countries, including all of its member states, to support them in their efforts to fight against the coronavirus.
“The WAEMU notes with satisfaction that all the member states of this Union have benefited from this aid”, underlines the Commission in a note sent to the Moroccan embassy in Burkina Faso.
“The Commission welcomes this initiative and is delighted with the quality of the cooperative relations that the member states and the UEMOA Commission maintain with the Kingdom of Morocco,” we read in this note.
His Majesty King Mohammed VI had given His High Instructions for the delivery of medical aid to several brother African countries.
This aid aims to provide preventive medical equipment to support the brother African countries in their efforts to fight the Covid-19 pandemic.
This solidarity action is part of the implementation of the initiative launched by His Majesty the King on April 13, 2020, as a pragmatic and action-oriented approach, aimed at brotherly African countries, allowing sharing of experiences and good practices and aiming to establish an operational framework to support their efforts in the various phases of pandemic management.
