The Dutch “Grand Prix” on the Zandvoort track was to take place on May 3. Initially, the stage was postponed indefinitely, but now it has been canceled altogether.
The Netherlands has not taken the F-1 stage since 1985.
“I’ve been waiting for this moment for 35 years, so I can wait for another one,” admits stage sports director Jan Lammers.
The first ten races of the season have been canceled altogether or postponed, but the start of the championship is scheduled for Austria, where the stages would take place for two weeks in a row on July 5 and 12. Then, on the next two weekends, the stages would be taken by the Silverstone track in Great Britain.
The final decision on whether Austria will host the first stages of the season will be made next week. According to the Austrian Minister of Health Rudolf Anchober, government experts are very carefully examining the proposed plan for the competition.
There are currently 12 stages in the season calendar.
