The Diesel Scale scandal has led to a search of Continental’s property in Germany

Continental stated that the investigators had operated on the company’s premises in Hanover, Frankfurt, Regensburg and elsewhere.

The company also emphasized that it had not supplied its customers with any software intended to falsify harmful emissions data.

In September 2015, Volkswagen caused a global scandal when the company admitted that up to 11 million of its cars in the world are equipped with certain types of diesel engines, which are equipped with falsification software for harmful emissions measurements.

Since then, suspicions have arisen as to whether spare parts suppliers have also been involved in the scandal.
