Russian Defense Minister Accuses Poland of Plotting to Occupy Western Ukraine

Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu called Poland “the main instrument of American anti-Russian policy”. According to him, Warsaw is preparing to send soldiers to the west of Ukraine under the pretext of ensuring security. In fact, it will be an occupation, he claims. But our northern neighbors are not planning anything like that.

Poland is building “the most powerful army in Europe”, which it will not be afraid to use. Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said this at a meeting of the Russian Security Council, the agency pointed out RIA Novosti.

According to him, the country is “the main instrument of American anti-Russian policy”. “They buy weapons in bulk from Washington and its partners, Great Britain and South Korea. In addition, there are plans to create a so-called Polish-Ukrainian connection, ostensibly to ensure the security of western Ukraine. In fact, it will serve the subsequent occupation of this territory,Shoigu declared.

His department thus came to the conclusion that “threats to Russian military security from the western and northwestern direction have increased many times”, writes the Belarusian opposition platform Nexta.

This is not the first time that Russian officials have worked with a similar idea. President Vladimir Putin spoke about Poland’s supposed intentions to occupy Ukraine in June. He then stated that “intends to create some kind of coalition under the banner of NATO, which will directly intervene in the conflict in Ukraine and snatch a piece of its territory”.

The only state occupying Ukraine is Russia. It annexed the Crimean peninsula in 2014 and four regions in the east and south last fall. But Kiev partially freed them.

Desperate Russians are looking for help wherever they can. Shoigu had a meeting with Kim in the DPRK (7/2023):
