On video | They rescued a baby kidnapped in Cartagena in Repelón

After almost eight hours of intense search, the National Police managed to rescue a newborn who had been kidnapped this Sunday morning in the city of Cartagena (Bolívar). According to the authorities, the baby, barely 20 days old, was found in the village of Rotinet, in Repelón (Atlántico), at around 5:00 in the afternoon.

The search and rescue operation was led by the Police Gaula, after the baby’s young mother reported to the authorities that a woman had gained her trust by offering her financial and food aid to support the newborn.

According to the mother’s complaint, the offender had convinced her to meet with her this Saturday and gave them food to make a new appointment this Sunday to, supposedly, give them toys and clothes for the baby.

At the appointment this Sunday, the Police reported, the unknown woman convinced the mother to hand over the minor, while they moved to her home at the foot of Cerro de la Popa, in Cartagena, where she would supposedly receive the aid. The mother, confidently, boarded a motorcycle taxi heading to the place indicated by the “good Samaritan”, not counting on the fact that she boarded another motorcycle with an unknown destination, disappearing the minor.

It was reported that the kidnapper was a thick-built woman, whose image, taken by security cameras in a shopping center and the streets of Cartagena, was released by the Police for her search.

On the afternoon of this Sunday, the Police reported that the rescue of the minor had been achieved several kilometers from Cartagena, in the jurisdiction of the Atlantic; however, they did not clarify whether the abductor had been captured.
