Bad news for Ori fans eager to play the new game on the Nintendo Switch. According to the game’s lead engineer, Gennadiy Korol, Ori and the Will of the Wisps is not yet out on the Switch.
During a Ask me Anything-post a fan asked whether a port for the Nintendo Switch is already being considered. Last year, the Ori and the Blind Forest port was released on the Nintendo hybrid console and was very well received. Korol says that it is not going to happen yet. “At the moment we have nothing to share when it comes to the port of Ori and the Will of the Wisps,” he says. “I can tell you that it will be an extremely difficult port to run the game at 60 fps on Nintendo Switch.”
Ori and the Will of the Wisps struggled to run on Xbox One at launch, so it makes sense that getting the game to work properly on the Nintendo Switch makes it even trickier. Ori and the Will of the Wisps is out now on Xbox One and PC.
