The recording includes songs that have been played before, as well as brand new compositions and unprecedented collaborations.
The author of the song music and lyrics is mostly Markus Riva himself. According to Riva, the songs in Latvian are not new in his repertoire, but they have never been collected in one album: “Well, it has finally happened, and it is not for nothing that the recording has been given the title” River of Time “- this is a piece released some time ago , inspired me to take such a step ”.
The album includes seven compositions, and well-known musicians and producers both in Latvia and abroad have taken part in it. The duo with Dinārs Rudāns “As long as We Are” was created together with the singer Jan Kay, while the co-author of the song “Laika upe” is Ruslan Kvinta – a Ukrainian producer who has also collaborated with artists such as Svetlana Loboda and Sofia Rotar. The songs have been produced by Edgars Jass, Gints Stankevičs and Reinis Ašmanis.
“I am happy and honored to work with talented colleagues here from Latvia, and I am very happy that my sixth album will sound in Latvian – this is the language I think and feel, and although I have always been interested in what is beyond the horizon, I feel at home the best. ” says Markus Riva.
