“This is a song about the solstice. About forgiveness. About time, place and love without borders, »says composer Jānis Ķirsis, who has his first encounter with Imants Ziedons in this music.
This composition is one of the main cornerstones of the concert program “Song of the Soul”, which both artists planned to play throughout Latvia in December – during the holidays: “It is very unfortunate that our intention to visit listeners this year is not possible, so the day when we will be able to meet again in big, beautiful live concerts, which will be a real holiday for both us and the listeners! ”
Rūta and Jānis started their joint creative journey two years ago, releasing the song “One Heart”, which was also their wedding waltz.
Rūta Dūduma-Ķirse is a laureate of several international jazz competitions, a member of the vocal group “Framest” and the musical association “Vintāža”. Jānis Ķirsis is a composer and producer, a member of the vocal group «Framest» and artistic director. He has created music for the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra, Liepaja Symphony Orchestra, Latvian Radio Big Band, Riga Orchestra, Kamēr, Juventus, Maska, accordionist Ksenija Sidorova. Received the Latvian Music Record of the Year Award “Golden Microphone” (2016) and the “Copyright Infinity Award 2017”.
