Czechia has lost another important actress. Valentina Thielová, who has appeared in dozens of films and series, has died at the age of 89. Probably her best-known role was Professor Boženka of Snow White and Moths. The actress died on Saturday, according to her granddaughter, she took her last breath in her sleep.
Writer Blanka Kovaříková, who was very close to the actress, reported the death of Valentina Thielová on Facebook. The sad news of her was confirmed to her by Thiel’s niece, Michaela Svatá, who also sent her a part of her. “It is with regret that we announce the death of our dear and beloved aunt. She died in silence and sleep on Saturday 15 October at the age of 89”, she reads in the caption.
According to Kovaříková, it was obvious that the actress would be leaving for several weeks. “Until 14 days ago, at least we were talking on the phone, but then it was no longer possible due to the worsening of his health condition. You just have to wait for the news to arrive. And yesterday (Saturday, ed) it happened”, Kovaříková wrote . According to her, Thiel did not want a public goodbye, so the family will bury the actress in silence.
Valentina Thielová can be remembered by the public as Professor Boženka from the comedy Snow White and the Moths. But she got her first roles in a small film as early as the 1950s. Her debut was Florenc 1.30pm, in which she won the lead role. This film launched a long acting career which includes Summer with a Cowboy, Merry Christmas from an Octopus, Men’s Ride, What a Soldier …, How Poets Taste Life, Buddies in the Rain or Bastards.
She has also appeared in a series of series, for example, I swear and I promise, The Novak Dynasty, There were five of us, Footprints of Life or Ordinance in the Rose Garden.
