Sad news hit the Czech acting scene. Actor Milan Duchek died at the age of 67 after a serious illness. TV fans may also remember him from the series Doctors of Genesis.
The sad news was confirmed by TN.cz actor Ladislav Ondřej. “It’s true. Milan Duchek was a long-time friend of mine, a colleague from the theater and from performances. For more than 11 years, we went to various shows together. He was a good friend to me. He was a good person,” lamented Ondřej.
Milan Duchek died on Thursday, November 2. “He had a serious illness, really serious. And he actually had it for two years and was being treated for it,” actress Michaela Dolinová told TN.cz.
The sad news reached the actor during the performance. “We were just playing the comedy Trapas nežerijaju! with my colleague Láďa Ondřej, when I got the message. So we dedicated the show, in which Milan also played before, to him remotely. That we are playing it for him,” Dolinová explained.
Although Duchek was an actor of small roles, he appeared in a number of major films. For example, it was the popular film Vrchní, prchni! (1980) or Fists in the Dark (1986). Fans may also remember him from a number of TV series, for example, he shone in an episode of the TV Nova series Doctors from the Beginning.
Duchek was born in Beroun, and after studying at the conservatory in Prague, he began his acting career at the Regional Theater in Příbram. From the mid-1980s, he was a guest in a number of theaters. He was also intensively involved in performances for children.
