An important discovery by Chinese scientists in the fight against coronavirus: it is not about one, but two different types of Covid-19, as the virus is officially called. The one is much more aggressive in nature than the other.
According to scientists from, among others, the University of Beijing, 70 percent of the samples examined concern the severe version of the disease. In 30 percent of the cases it would be the lighter version. On the other hand, the heavier variant is becoming less common compared to the lighter contamination.
The researchers emphasize that this is a limited sample and that more research is needed. The virus has also only been studied in Wuhan. The question is whether the two types also occur in this way in other countries. The results appeared in Chinese professional journal “National Science Review”.
There are now more than 80,000 infections in China. Almost 3,000 people died from the effects of the corona virus.
