Even the acquisition of an expensive Toyota Land Cruiser will be the best option.
Surely, many motorists have heard that the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant is planning to introduce the new generation UAZ Patriot, called the Russian Prado, in the foreseeable future. According to the automakers, the new SUV should compete with the famous Toyota Land Cruiser Prado – the new car promises to be cheaper, more technologically advanced and more pleasant than the Japanese all-terrain vehicle.
However, such statements by UAZ designers turned out to be premature – it is unlikely that Russky PRrado will conquer a wide audience of car enthusiasts – most likely Russians will prefer to buy either proven Kruzaki, or Chinese counterparts, or KIA Mohave, which is gaining momentum in Russia. So why, the new Russian SUV does not shine anything good in Russia?
First of all, you should pay attention to the body and the paintwork of the new UAZ Patriot – the company will not offer anything special, despite loud statements about protecting the body from all-pervasive corrosion. “Russian Prado”, like its predecessor, will continue to ruthlessly rot and cover themselves with chips, and the owners will throw a lot of money in order to at least slightly eliminate such flaws.
As for the interior of the Russian second-generation SUV, despite the expanded functionality, interior decoration is also unlikely to be of high quality – most likely, the developers will save on this. This will lead to the fact that car owners will still complain about the creak of the cabin and the failure of electronic assistants.
Under the hood of the “Russian Prado” will be located 2.3-liter turbo engines with 150 and 180 horsepower, which are built on the basis of engines taken from the previous “Patriot”. It was assumed that such aggregates should have eliminated the disadvantages inherent in their predecessors, but at the same time, no one is immune from new errors, which can be even more critical. This suggests that the reliability of these units raises doubts that it will hurt the owners afford.
Another engine that will be equipped with the new product will be a 2.2-liter turbodiesel from Ford Transit – this installation speaks for itself and is familiar to many fans of Ford cars. In turn, the introduction of the Ford unit indicates that the UAZ are not able to create a diesel engine designed for durability, so they decided to sweeten the pill to the owners of Russky Prado, who are annoyed by ZMZ gasoline engines.
Thus, “Russian Prado” from UAZ does not shine anything good in Russia, as the reliability of engines and the durability of the paintwork leaves much to be desired and is doubtful. Therefore, nothing threatens the popularity of Kruzakov – instead of paying 1,500,000 rubles instead of paying another rubbish from UAZ, Russians will buy a used or new Toyota Land Cruiser and enjoy life and the absence of serious problems.
