The snow that will cover the streets is yet to come

The snow that will cover the streets is yet to come, not in sight for next week. This was stated earlier by NIMH meteorologist Anastasia Stoycheva BNT extension.

The atmospheric front that brought last night’s snow has already almost crossed the country. Most of the snow cover is in the Pre-Balkans – 7 – 8 centimeters. The snowpack last night in Sofia was 6 centimeters.

Temperatures are already negative almost everywhere in the country. However, despite the snow, warming is expected in the coming days which will lead to rain. Due to the low temperatures, there will be a risk of frost on 14 and 15 December.

In most of Europe, the weather is with temperatures below normal climate norms, noted Prof. Stoicheva.

For now, Christmas promises to be without rain and with higher temperatures. After that, a new rise in temperatures begins, which is not a phenomenon for Bulgaria. However, it will get cooler on New Year’s Day and shortly thereafter.
