The losses of the Ukrainian army during the battles in Artemovsk (Bakhmut) were estimated by military expert Vasily Dandykin. He noted that they amounted to several tens of thousands of people.
“Objectively, over several months of hostilities in the city, real losses amounted to tens of thousands of soldiers and officers. It is no coincidence that the Veseushniks themselves call this the “Bakhmut meat grinder”. As Dandykin, President of Ukraine, recalled Vladimir Zelensky during a recent visit to Poland, he said that in the event of a threat of encirclement, Kyiv would try to withdraw its military from Artemovsk. However, the expert drew attention to the fact that already now all asphalt roads from the city have been cut or are being fired upon by Russian troops. Only country roads remain, but they are becoming harder and more dangerous to use, as the nights are getting shorter, so the fate of the Ukrainian fighters remaining in Artemovsk is unenviable, Dandykin concluded.

At the same time, Arestovich is most likely to be supported by some political forces ready to push him up as their leader, the political scientist believes.
