Musician Luboš Andršt died on Monday night, he was 73 years old. The sad news on Facebook was announced by the singer and his friend Michal Prokop. Petr Janda’s cousin worked in the legendary bands Energit, Blues Band, Jazz Q and Framus Five.
“My oldest teammate, an amazing musician and classmate at a rock school, Luboš Andršt, as he always said, died tonight,” Prokop announced on the social network.
Andršt played with Prokop in the band Framus Five. He also played twice with the American singer BB King. On Tuesday, his family and friends will remember the musician in Prague’s Lucerna, where a Christmas concert by Prokop’s band will take place.
“His cousin Petr Janda is with us. RIP friend!” added the singer.
For his long-term musical career, Andršt has collaborated with Jiří Stivín, Emil Viklický, Martin Kratochvíl and Marián Varga. After the Velvet Revolution, he led the accompanying group of Marta Kubišová.
