THE BALL – «It only depends on Félix to be an extraordinary player» (Atlético Madrid)

Diego Simeone, coach of Atlético Madrid, believes that João Félix has what it takes to be an extraordinary player, but that he has to show it on the pitch and not just during a game.

“João Félix has the opportunity to play from the start. He’s excited like the rest of the players. It just depends on him to be an extraordinary player. You have to show that and maintain that level, which is the most difficult in football”, explained the Argentine coach, in a press conference ahead of the match against Athletic Bilbao, referring to the Spanish Super Cup semi-finals.

Simeone highlighted the importance of Giménez and Suárez: “With both of them at a high level, the team is stronger in defense and attack. Giménez needs the team to defend well and Suárez also needs the team to have opportunities.”
