In Curaçao, the number of new infections decreased today compared to the previous days. 407 people tested positive today. 179 people were allowed to end their isolation, so that the number of active corona cases still passed the 9,000 limit.
One corona patient died in the CMC, bringing the total number of people who succumbed to the virus to 194.
There are eight patients in the Intensive Care Unit, 23 in the Covid ward. A total of five more patients are in hospital compared to yesterday.
Aruba
With 499 new cases in Aruba today, the decrease in infections seems to continue there as well. The peak of the current wave was on January 5 with 1,162 new infections, which fell to 524 yesterday and is now just below 500.
1,314 people were allowed to come out of isolation because they are no longer contagious. This brings the number of active cases to 3,679.
The number of new infections may be falling, but the number of hospital admissions has risen dramatically today. Yesterday there were fourteen patients in the Horacio Oduber hospital, today that number rose to 29, of whom five patients are in intensive care. One more than yesterday.
Bonaire
There were 87 new infections on Bonaire. That number has fallen below 100 for the first time since January 3. The number of active cases also decreased. Yesterday there were 863 patients, today there are 824.
One patient did die from the effects of Covid-19. The total number of people who have succumbed to the virus now stands at 24 people. There are currently three patients in the hospital.
