Sony releases new neck speaker. First to support Dolby Atmos

Sony has released a new model of the so-called neck speakers that were introduced to the market two years ago. It’s a wireless speaker that is meant to hang around your neck when watching TV, something that might be interesting if you do not want such a loud sound from the TV.

The new model SRS-NS7 will be the first neck speaker from Sony with support for Dolby Atmos. According to Sony, this means that the user should be able to have a good surround sound experience with the speaker. Then, however, it is required that they are connected to a Sony Bravia XR TV. You can also connect the SRS-NS7 to mobile phones and listen to spatial 360 sound from apps that support it.

The built-in battery lasts for about five hours of playback at maximum volume and up to twelve hours if a slightly lower volume is preferred. Sony SRS-NS7 costs SEK 3,200 and can be purchased now. You will find an introductory film to the neck speaker below.
