“Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Paparazzi Chase in NYC: Taxi Driver Shares Details”

Prince Harry, Meghan Markle and her mother got into a paparazzi chase on Tuesday night. They also used a taxi as one of the escape vehicles. New York taxi driver Sukhcharn Singh, who drove the group, spoke about what happened on the fateful evening. However, according to him, it was not a typical movie chase and he did not sense danger the whole time.

​A spokesperson for Prince Harry made a surprising announcement on Wednesday afternoon. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have become embroiled in an almost tragic chase with tabloid photographers. Meghan Markle’s mother and a bodyguard were also in the car with them. In addition to the black SUV, they also rode in one of the New York taxis for ten minutes.

Taxi driver Sukhcharn Singh, who calls himself Sunny, said he didn’t think the chase was that dramatic. “I wouldn’t call it a chase. I didn’t feel like I was in danger. It wasn’t like a car chase in a movie. The passengers were quiet and looked scared,” Sunny told The Washington Post. “They kept chasing us and driving next to the car. When we stopped, they were taking pictures and filming us,” he continued.

The situation was not so dramatic even according to New York police officers. They said in their statement that no accidents were reported. No one was hurt and there was no need to arrest anyone.

“It’s clear that the press and paparazzi want to get the best shots. But the safety of the public must come first,” he added, according to the website Independent the mayor of New York, Eric Adams, who was skeptical that it would be a two-hour chase. “New York is different from small towns. You shouldn’t be speeding anywhere, but this is a densely populated city,” he said.

The mayor was said to be most concerned that two policemen could have been injured. Fortunately, they got out of the whole situation unharmed. “It would be terrible if an innocent bystander lost their life in a chase like this and something happened to them,” Adams noted.

The situation was supposed to commemorate the tragic moment when Harry’s mother Princess Diana died. At the end of August 1997 in Paris, she was chased by the paparazzi. Her driver lost control during the chase and crashed.
