Next month, Netflix will start showing the Pokémon movie Pokémon: Secrets of the Jungle which is a kind of Tarzan variant in the Pokémon universe.
The film is about the young boy Koko who was raised in the jungle by the pokemon Dada Zarude, something that made Koko believe that he is also a pokémon. When Koko is later found in the jungle by Pokémon trainer Ash and his weapon bearer Pikachu, Koko begins to question everything he previously thought about himself and his upbringing.
Pokémon: Secrets of the Jungle has previously been shown in Japan, South Korea and China but will have its international premiere on Netflix on October 8. The Pokémon Company, Niantic and Netflix will also run some kind of Pokémon Go event in connection with the film’s premiere on Netflix. Exactly what this means is currently unclear, but there will hopefully be more information about it soon.
