The 22-time Grand Slam winner has been recovering from injuries for the last year and a half. Because of this, his ranking is very low and he had to start from the first round. The 16-year-old Darwin Blanch met there did not turn out to be a tough rival and Rafa defeated him 6-1, 6-0. In the second round he met his conqueror from the previous tournament, Alex de Minaur. The 7-6, 6-3 win showed how much the Spaniard’s form had improved over the week.

Only the third match of the tournament saw Nadal lose the set. After easily losing the opening set, Argentinian Pedro Cachin improved his skills and, after a hard fight, managed to win the second set after a tie-break. Ultimately, it was not enough and Rafael still won the match in three sets 6:1, 6:7, 6:3.
Lehecka has played two matches so far, as he was given a free pass in the first round. He won the first one against Hamad Medjedovic 7:5 6:4, and the second one against Thiago Monteiro 6:4, 7:6.
