Previously unaired footage reveals the minutes after the accident on Cherni Vrah Boulevard, for which Georgi Semerdzhiev is on trial. Two young women died in the accident.
According to the investigators of the recordings from security cameras, it is police officer Simona Radeva, reported bTV.
The footage is from a security camera on a street in Sofia, where the action takes place.
The footage shows a young woman carrying a ladder. The investigators claim that the woman is the police officer Simona Radeva, and that Semerdzhiev climbed on top of her and went home.
At 23:50 the woman returns and puts the ladder away. Radeva admits to the court that she helped Semerdzhiev.
According to the investigators, the footage from the security camera is precisely the policewoman Radeva. During her interrogation before the court, she admitted that she knew the accused Semerdzhiev and that after the accident she had taken the ladder to him with her personal car.
In her testimony as a witness in the case, she adds that she was not alone.
The photos of the woman with the ladder are on the covers of the case against Georgi Semerdzhiev. The defendant’s lawyer Miroslav Hristov is not seeing them for the first time. He specified that Radeva carried the ladder out of friendly interest to help him.
The photos have already been examined to determine who the lady with the ladder is.
“The answer from the experts is that it is not clear. The subject in these photos cannot be identified,” added Miroslav Hristov, Georgi Semerdzhiev’s lawyer.
There is a pre-trial proceeding on whether officials helped Semerdzhiev to hide on the night of the tragedy.
