Merdeka.com – NASA rover robot finds oddly shaped rock formations on Planet Mars. On April 1 at Sol 3786, the robot snapped a strangely shaped image that looked like a dragon’s bone.

The robot successfully landed in Gale Crater on the red planet on August 6, 2012. Since then, the rover has captured many discoveries, one of which is evidence of the existence of water in the past and organic molecules essential for life.

“In 20 years of researching Mars, this is the strangest rock I’ve ever seen,” explained astrobiologist Nathalie Cabrol, quoted from Space Explored, Sunday (16/4).

Cabrol explained that the scale-like rock structures appeared after a lot of erosion and also possibly due to wind.

A number of netizens on Twitter commented that the find was similar to what they saw in the science fiction film Dune.

Although the discovery of this “dragon bone” stone does not seem like a big achievement, it shows that there is still much to learn or research from Earth’s neighboring planet.

Currently, the main mission of NASA’s “Curiosity” robot continues to collect data and determine whether the martian planet was once habitable for very tiny micro-bacteria.
