“Mother’s Day Flowers: Paradise Florist Prepares for the Biggest Sale of the Year”

“Well, on Mother’s Day, I’d like flowers, lots of flowers, I love roses, lots of roses.”

As families make plans to celebrate Mother’s Day this year at Paradise Florist in Inwood, their owners have been preparing for a month now to help shoppers find thank-you gifts for the queen of the home.

-I imagine that it is a high sale for you, right?

“I think so, it would be considered the biggest of the year. Who does not have a mother, a sister or a cousin, the comadre, something… we all have a person, a person to whom we can give flowers,” said Esteban Alonso, owner of Paradise Florist.

Flowers are one of the most common gifts during this holiday. But which are mom’s favorites?

“Mom is mostly given pink tones, which are soft tones,” added Alonso.

Annually, every second Sunday of May in the United States, those important women in our lives are celebrated, but how much do they like flowers?

“I like pink, I like any flower, even one they find on the street and tell me ‘have it, I’m happy, because it’s life,'” said Baudilia Núñez.

“I’m going to bring her flowers, my mom is fascinated by flowers, she says if there are no flowers, don’t give me gifts,” said Jenny Núñez.

Some 23 million flowers are sold each year on Mother’s Day, according to 1-800-Flowers.com, a leading flower retailer.

How many roses do you receive to carry out this day?

“The truth is that I plan, but in the end I end up ordering much more than planned because in the end it is not enough,” said Alonso.

Today’s spending is expected to reach $35.7 billion, according to forecast data released by the National Retail Federation (NRF).

“Apart from giving away more flowers, we are the ones that move the most commerce here in New York, basically without Latinos New York would not exist,” said Alonso.

As observed in previous years, the most popular gifts that every mother wants to receive on this special day are flowers, greeting cards, and special outings, such as dinners or lunches, this will surely bring a smile to their faces.
