Moderna’s vaccine provides the best protection against the coronavirus. Belgian healthcare workers who received the American drug were found to have twice as many antibodies in their blood as those who received the Pfizer vaccine.
From Belgian researchers call this in a professional journal JAMA not even unexpected. Although both drugs work with mRNA, Moderna’s vaccine is much more concentrated than Pfizer’s. It is also not the first study in which Moderna came out on top. This drug has proven to be the most successful all over the world.
As it turns out a big study in the US state of Minnesota that the effectiveness of Moderna is 86 percent compared to 76 percent at Pfizer. The delta variant dropped Pfizer’s protection to 42 percent, while Moderna remained at 76 percent.
The Belgian study among 1500 healthcare workers found that Moderna produces almost 4000 units of antibodies per milliliter in the blood, whereas Pfizer remains at 1500 units. However, a corona infection produces many more antibodies: 10,000 per milliliter of blood.
