Markus Riva releases his second studio album in Latvian

The musically new album is in the style of the nineties and several songs from it have already reached the listeners in the summer.

The first, “Last Time,” was released in July, highlighting darker colors in Markus Riva’s work, as well as surprising listeners with an unprecedented arrangement.

This was followed by the playful “In Your Words” and a duo with Samantha Tina “I Don’t Meet”, which was awarded a scholarship by the Latvian Association of Musicians and Producers (LaIPA) and won the hearts of listeners in October. The current single from the album “Tears in the Eyes” has just started its way to the top of radio stations.

Nostalgia and melancholy also permeate the album in terms of content. According to the musician, both the surrounding and the relentless passage of time make us look more and more for the answers to the questions that we are doing here. This time has not been easy for anyone, and it is inevitably reflected in Riva’s music – the album also touches on several mental health topics.

“This album is, of course, a reflection of the emotions of the pandemic. There has been more time, sometimes even too much time to think. The world has turned its feet in the air, and it has stopped for a moment, the usual course of life has changed and loneliness has inevitably crept into it. But a person’s emotional essence and desire to love and be loved does not change, ”says Markus.

From December 1, the album “Lost in the City” can be found on all the most popular music streaming platforms. Gints Stankevičs, Andis Ansons, Igors Tatarenko, Romans Nepomiašijs, as well as Samanta Tīna have participated in the creation of the album.
