Laks was selected by the Seattle “Storm” team with the 11th number in the draft of this year’s Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA). The contract stipulates that he will join his team in the spring of 2021.
Until then, Laksa will continue to represent “TTT Rīga” – in the club he has scored 910 points in 92 games, won 227 rebounds and returned 74 assists.
Laksa “TTT Rīga” debuted on October 13, 2012, in the Latvian-Estonian league home game. In three seasons, the forwarder started in five of the 78 games, scored 728 points, won 183 rebounds and made 54 assists. Under the leadership of coach Aigars Nerips, he became a two-time Latvian champion and a two-time Latvian-Estonian league winner.
On December 7, 2019, she returned to the square “TTT Rīga” in a shirt, marking 23 points and three assists in a home game against the University of Tartu. The striker scored 8.0 points in an average of 20.6 minutes and won 2.6 balls under the baskets in seven Euroleague games. In the Latvian-Estonian-Lithuanian league, she averaged 18.0 points and 3.7 rebounds in seven games.
In 2015-2019, a student of the Riga French Lyceum studied at the University of South Florida in Tampa, USA, obtaining a bachelor’s degree in psychology. Laksa reached the final of the American Athletic Conference League for three years in a row and helped the Bulls qualify for the NCAA Championship three times.
During the career of Laksa students, 86 of the 99 games started in the top five of the USF Bulls. She scored 1764 points, won 312 balls and made 97 assists. In the 2018 season, Laksa reached two NCAA First Division records – throwing 11 three-point shots in one game in a row and taking free throws with 96.5% accuracy (111/115).
He made his debut in the Latvian state unit on May 11, 2013 in Alytus. A month later, she became the youngest player in the 2013 European Championship to take the field. She has represented the team in three European finals (2013, 2015, 2017) and the World Cup (2018), scoring 293 points in 51 games. He scored 654 points in 51 games in the youth national team.

It has already been reported that “TTT Rīga” will also play in the FIBA Euroleague main tournament this season, where it was drawn in Group B together with Ekaterinburg UGMK, Istanbul “Galatasaray”, Sopron “Uniqa” (Hungary), Bourgeois “Tango”, “Basket Landes” ( both France), Skio Famila (Italy), as well as the Spanish team Girona ‘s Spar Citylift and Sfintu Georges’ ACS Sepsi SIC from the winner of the Romanian pair.
Last season, “TTT Rīga” took the last place among eight teams in the subgroup of the Euroleague main tournament and did not qualify for the elimination tournament. The Rigans later triumphed in the Baltic Basketball League and after the main tournament of the Latvian Women’s Basketball League was stopped, they were confirmed as the winners of the national championship.
