J Balvin has been struggling with depression and an anxiety disorder for a while. The 35-year-old singer told his followers on Instagram in his native language, Spanish, on Wednesday.
“I know I was away from social media for a while,” he tells his 44.8 million followers. “I’ve had a lot of anxiety and depression lately.”
José Álvaro Osorio Balvin, as the singer’s full name, didn’t want to pretend everything was okay. “No, because I am human like everyone else and I am also vulnerable and very vulnerable, possibly even more than many of you,” he concludes. He also thanked his fans for all the attention he received.
