Yesterday the body of Baptiste Jacques Daniel Lormand was found, a French businessman who was seen for the last time on November 26 in the Polanco neighborhood, in the Miguel Hidalgo mayor’s office.
According to his relatives, last Thursday he attended a meal and afterwards, they no longer heard from him. After searching for him all night, they went to the Mexico City Attorney General’s Office (FGJCDMX), agency that issued a file for its location.
In it they pointed out that the 45-year-old man was wearing blue dress pants and a knitted sweater with navy blue buttons.
At dawn yesterday his body was found along with that of another man in a place on the road to Cedral, in the town of Magdalena Petlacalco, in the municipality of Tlalpan.
At the time of the discovery, Lormand was wearing the same clothes at the time of his disappearance; he and the other man had their hands tied behind them and were face down.
It turned out that the other body belongs to Luis Orozco, a friend of Lormand, although this has not been confirmed by the local prosecutor’s office.
Reports indicate that relatives and acquaintances did not receive a call to demand a ransom, which is why it is presumed that it was a direct attack.
However, the authorities indicated that investigations were initiated to discover the motive and find the whereabouts of the criminals.
The Attorney General’s Office capitalina said that they have kept in contact with those of the French Embassy in Mexico.
Lormand owned the restaurant Surtidora Don Bátiz and was vice president of the National Chamber of the Restaurant and Seasoned Food Industry (Canirac) in the Miguel Hidalgo.
Meanwhile, in social networks, friends and neighbors of Polanco, the neighborhood where the businessman resided, demanded that the head of government, Claudia Sheinbaum, the head of the capital police, Omar Garcia Harfuch, and the mayor in Miguel Hidalgo, Víctor Hugo Romo, clarify the double homicide. In addition, the French community in Mexico invited candles and flowers to the French embassy in Polanco.
Lormand is the second foreigner killed in the capital this year. Last March, a cyclist of English nationality identified as Magcin Pinichsde, 41, was shot dead in the Desierto de los Leones, in Cuajimalpa.
At the time the Secretariat of Citizen Security He indicated that the attack was direct and the murderers waited for at least an hour to attack him.
Pinichsde’s wife said her partner owned a clothing company named Scorpion.
