The Russian government has announced the lifting of restrictions on foreign athletes and coaches who want to return to Russia, and they will be able to return to Russia in the near future.
“The permit applies to those who have an employment contract with a Russian sports organization,” explains the site “sports.ru”.
Like all other athletes from abroad, they will be under medical supervision and will have to undergo a 14-day quarantine.
“This decision will help professional sports organizations, including football clubs represented in the Russian Premier League, resume training after easing restrictions due to a coronavirus infection,” the Russian government’s website said in a statement.
The resumption of the Russian football championship is scheduled for June 21.
