The Rainy Season Is The Cause

Rohmat said that the massive spread of dengue fever in Lebak Regency since January 2022 until now is related to the rainy season. In conditions like this, the more rapid the breeding of mosquitoes aedes aegepty as a spreader of the dengue virus

As an anticipatory measure, all levels of society are asked to take action to eradicate mosquito nests (PSN) by working together through the 3M movement, namely burying, draining, and closing.

“We hope that the community can carry out the PSN and 3 M Movements to prevent the transmission of DHF,” said Rohmat.

Garbage Collecting Water Becomes a Source of Spread

The PSN and 3M movements are considered to be more effective in killing DHF mosquito larvae at the source, compared to the fumigation system.

“I consider breaking the chain of the spread of DHF through PSN,” he said.

He said the cause of the spread of dengue disease was because there was a lot of garbage so that rainwater did not fall to the ground and became a nest for mosquitos aedes aegepty in the environment. Usually, he said, the spread of dengue fever was in densely populated areas, such as in the 13 sub-districts.

“We do not stop socializing the prevention of dengue disease so that people are alert, especially the rainfall increases,” he explained.
